Dear readers of this twelfth issue of Biology and Society, we are very pleased to place in your hands a set of 6 contributions that are the result, first of all, the generosity of the authors of each of them who submitted them for publication.
Likewise, the final published version of this number is the result of the effort and work of all the members of the Editorial Committee, as well as all those people who served as anonymous referees, whom Biology and Society thanks.
In this twelfth issue of Biology and Society, through its IN MEMORIAM section, it pays a heartfelt tribute to a member of the Mexican scientific community, Dr. Nury Méndez Ubach, a very prominent researcher in the area of development of various species of polychaete annelids, who unfortunately got ahead of us on the road. Biology and Society appreciates the generosity and sensitivity of those who wrote the document.
The publication of this Twelfth issue of Biology and Society confirms the unavoidable responsibility of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León to contribute, in a sustained manner, to promoting the social appropriation of knowledge and to contribute to building an increasingly informed society, and therefore so much more equitable and just.
